Man finds his lost diamond wedding ring after 25 years
A man who lost his diamond wedding ring 25 years ago was reunited with it recently. He never thought that he would find his wedding ring, but just a few days ago it was discovered by accident. Now he says he’ll never take it off.
He lost the ring in a building at Barracks Road Shopping Center. It was once a restaurant where Selden Tilman worked many years ago. The newlywed man was in the kitchen when his wedding ring slipped off his finger and went down the drain.
“All of a sudden I went home I realized I didn’t have my wedding ring. I was worried. I thought the next day I’ll go back to work and get the grease trap and get my ring. Well, they had maintenance that night and they concreted that hole and that was it, that was all for the ring,” said Selden Tilman who lost his Wedding Ring.
His heart was broken, but he didn’t have guts to tell his wife about the incident.
“I don’t think I could repeat that on TV. She was upset, but she understood,” said Tilman.
Years went by. His wife bought him a new wedding ring, the ring he wore everyday until a few days ago.
“Selden really couldn’t have been any luckier,” said Doug Barrese, Found Lost Ring.
His wedding ring was discovered beneath the sewer by a repair man checking the pipes under the old café where he used to work. Pulling up the silverware that had long clogged the pipes, attached to one of the forks was his wedding ring.
“It was pretty nasty it was grungy it had some debris on it and it was pretty funky,” said Barrese. So, he cleaned it up.
When Tilman got the diamond wedding ring, he was overjoyed. It brought tears in his eyes. Needless to say, diamond wedding rings have great importance in newly wed couple’s lives.
